=Cupcake Cutie Boutique & The 1600 Non- Profit Charty Orrganization, brought families and community members together for a day of fun, fellowship, and giving back with its Back-to-School Fun Day and Giveaway. This community event served as a way to not only prepare children for their return to school. It offered families a chance to come together, have fun, and celebrate young people before they head back to the classroom. Between the food, music, and activities during the day-long event, there was plenty of reason for children and parents to enjoy some fellowship and celebrate with friends and neighbors. Hosting a bike giveaway was one of the many highlights of Cupcake Cutie Boutique & Friends’ Back-To-School Giveaway.
It brought smiles to the children receiving new bikes and added to the family-friendly atmosphere of the event. Mount Vernon City Councilman Andre Wallace stopped by to have some fun with the kids and celebrate with friends and families in attendance. When city leaders take time to interact with the community they serve, it can enable others to do the same. Councilman Wallace joined supporters, families, and local businesses to show Mount Vernon’s youth that people are fighting for them.
When local businesses, organizations, friends, neighbors, elected officials, and residents all come together for a day of fun and service, it is amazing what a community can accomplish. During back-to-school season, families often find themselves overwhelmed with the cost of preparing their children for another school year. Community events like this not only help ease some of that burden, but also show young people that they have their entire community behind them. Giving back to the community can take place through funded programs and government initiatives, but is not limited to them. Community service can look like food on the grill, music playing in the background, and children laughing with the neighbors while riding bicycles they got to keep. Cupcake Cutie Boutique & Friends ensured that as students head back to school, they’ll have something to smile about. They know their community cares about them.
