Yonkers City Councilwoman Tasha Diaz joins a growing list of elected officials and district leaders to endorse Mount Kisco Democratic Committee Chair, William ‘Bill’ Serratore for Westchester County Democratic Committee Chair after his appearance on Black Westchester’s People Before Politics Radio Show, Sunday, September 13th.

Serratore faces Suzanne Berger, chairwoman of the Greenburgh town Democrats for the past 18 years. Longtime Democratic leader, Reggie Lafayette dropped out of a race for reelection of Westchester County Democratic Chairman. Lafayette has held the position since 2004 during a time when the party saw its registration advantage over Republicans grow to more than 2-to-1
The county Board of Elections Democratic commissioner dropped out of the race to be re-elected Westchester County Democratic chairman. In a letter sent to the Westchester County Democratic Committee, Reginald A. LaFayette said, “after much soul-searching,” he would be removing his name from consideration as chairman.
LaFayette has held the position since 2004, Black Westchester reported.
He said he would stay as Democratic elections commissioner until the end of 2022
Leaders of the county Democratic Party will choose a new chair Sept. 17th.
