The annual library election on May 17, 2016 will involve the election of three library trustee positions: one for the regularly scheduled election of a trustee for a five-year term; a trustee to complete the last three years of Emery Schweig’s five-year term that was filled by Dierdra Clark in January, 2016; and a trustee to complete the fifth year of Mr. Walter’s five-year term now being filled by Ms. Ramos-Herbert.
Ms. Ramos-Herbert was selected from a number of well-qualified individuals who had submitted resumes and biographical statements in December, 2015, to be considered for the temporary position left by the resignation of Ms. Scheig. An eight-year resident of New Rochelle, Ms. Ramos-Herbert received her Juris Doctor from the University of Buffalo Law School and a Master’s Degree in Education from Northeastern University. She is currently employed as the Director of Academic Advising and Student Outreach at Columbia Law School.
Ms. Ramos-Herbert is the mother of two young children who are avid library participants. She is active in a number of community organizations and with her children’s schools and her house of worship.
