Shiloh Baptist Church Men’s Ministry Address ‘Why Black Lives Matter’ At Men’s Day Luncheon
New Rochelle — 100 or so men from Westchester and the Bronx gathered at the Radisson Hotel in New Rochelle, for Shiloh Baptist Church Men Ministry’s annual Men’s Day Luncheon, Saturday April 23rd. This years discussion was ‘Why Black Lives Matter,’ and dealt with an array of topics including transparency in police shootings of black men, better police/community relations, how to survive a police confrontation, each one teach one, the mass incarceration of black folks, and how blacks live do or do not matter in the education system, the business of incarceration, the lack of youth programs, etc.
The panel was moderated by BW Editor-In-Chief AJ Woodson and consisted of Lowes Moore (former NBA point Guard and Exec. Director of the Mount Vernon Boys & Girls Club), Shannon Lanier (Black Enterprise Business Report), Damon K. Jones (NY Rep of Black in Law Enforcement of America), Kenneth Chamberlain Jr. (community activist and co-founder of Westchester Coalition For Police Reform).
