WALLACE DENOUNCES NEGATIVE CAMPAIGN TACTICS, CALLS FOR ALL CANDIDATES TO FOLLOW SUIT
MOUNT VERNON, NY: (June 24, 2019) – In response to the recent spike in negative and, often, anonymous campaign communications targeting candidates in the race for Mayor of Mount Vernon, City Council President André Wallace calls on all candidates to support an immediate end to these divisive and abusive tactics.Rather than focusing on the issues that matter to the voters of Mount Vernon, candidates have either encouraged or sat idle as supporters and surrogates have generated and distributed negative robocalls, anonymous mailers, and engaged in other tactics unbefitting of the office they seek in this election.
