Experienced Litagator with a focus on Criminal and Family Court Practice fighting by your side, Verris Shako, the first African-American Female to be nominated to run for judge in Yonkers led all candidates with 29% of the vote (3,669 votes), and went on to become the number one vote getter in the race for judge in Yonkers in the Democratic Primary.

Up until recently, Yonkers City Courts, like many courts in the country were predominantly white. Until last year when Elena Goldberg Velazquez became the first Latina on the bench in Yonkers. Now we have two African-American women who won the primary and now hope to follow Judge Velazquez in making history, Tuesday, November 3rd and making the Yonkers City Court as diverse as the city of Yonkers.
