New Rochelle — Legendary music veteran and producer Tony Dofat was honored for his contributions to the Mount Vernon community, Thursday, October 13th by the Mount Vernon Public Library Foundation at the their gala at the VIP Country Club located at 600 Davenport Ave in New Rochelle.

“I’ve contributed 27 years of my life to the music industry and I believe that music was just the beginning of my journey,” Dofat tells BW. “I also believe that one of my life goals is to share the knowledge that I’ve acquired during my 27 year tenure and it has now come to fruition as an author, world lecturer, and my appointment as associate professor. Prior to my appointment, I remember my department chair asking,“why would a guy of my experience, track record, and accolades want to become a professor?” I said, my overall purpose was not to make records for 27 years but to learn how to make records so I can teach and share my knowledge, guide, mentor, and educate the youth and next generation of music makers and entrepreneurs. This is fulfilling to me!
