President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund Sherrilyn Ifill Denounces Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani on Policing Reform

President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund Sherrilyn Ifill, International Association of Chiefs of Police’s Terrence Cunningham, Wesley Lowery of the Washington Post and CBS News correspondent Jeff Pegues discussed racial policing and the road to healing in the United States on Face the Nation.

During the CBS, long-running news program,  Sherrilyn Ifill’s responded to former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s comment in a July 10, 2016 New York Times article on the Black Lives Matter movement:

“He actually presided over one of the most discredited areas and periods of policing in the City of New York,” she said, “which is, in fact, responsible for a lot of the tension that exists between police officers and people in African-American communities.”
