Mount Vernon – Congressman Jamaal Bowman was the guest speaker of the Senior Community Breakfast, hosted by the Mount Vernon Adult Center at the old Eastchester Savings Bank, located at 22 East First Street.

Congressman Bowman presented a proclamation to Ken Bright of the L.P.S. Group – Lockdown Progressive Services for all the work he does in the community. Ken believes by changing your mind-set you will change your life. By infusing men and women released from prison with preventive mechanisms: family, religious community involvement, community partnerships, clothing, food, housing, employment training and jobs.

Just before lunch was served, Mount Vernon Social Adult Day Care Center COO Serapher Conn-Halevi, former Mount Vernon Mayor Andre Wallace led all in attendance in singing Happy Birthday to Ken Bright (the Stevie Wonder version of course.) The event was well attended, below is a pictorial review.
