Black Westchester caught up with Grace Baptist Church Sr. Pastor Dr. Rev. W. Franklyn Richardson on a special edition of the Black Westchester Power Hour, Friday, November 27th to discuss his new book, Witness To Grace – A Testimony Of Favor. Witness To Grace is a memoir of Dr. Richardson’s life growing up in the divided South, coming of age during the Civil Rights movement, pastoring through a pandemic, and the United States’ most pivotal racial reckoning in a generation. This is his story, in his words.
In the interview, Dr. Richardson discussed his new book, his life, the Freedom School, the importance of the National Action Network, politics, civil rights and much much more.
A pastor for more than 50 years – with the last 45 of them spent at Grace Baptist Church – Dr. Richardson last month helped launch a program providing residents from underserved communities virtual access to legal help and representation. Earlier this year, the longtime civil rights leader opened a temporary coronavirus testing site at the Mount Vernon-based church – which has undergone significant expansion in the past decades.
