Orange Councilwoman Williams’ Bid for Office Clarified!

Orange Councilwoman Donna K. Williams, at the end of her third term on City Council, is running for Mayor of her beloved Orange.

Although she still has an official announcement forthcoming, Williams was pleased to see her position clarified in a local periodical.

Just days ago, TapInto East Orange/Orange ran an article that clarified Williams’ intent and position after another periodical erroneously reported that she, and another Councilmember Christopher Jackson, were each running for both Mayor and City Council simultaneously.W

Williams explained that at the time that she picked up her petition applications some weeks ago, she picked applications for each position because she had not fully decided on whether or she was going to run for Mayor or for Re-election as Councilwoman.

However “after prayer and much deliberation,” she decided to it was time to “step up to the next level.”

Williams is looking to “make history” by becoming the first woman to lead that working class Essex County community with her bid. She has been the top vote getter in their last two elections.

“Without question, I am running for Mayor,” she said emphatically.
