Only In Westchester, Young Black Man Get $100,000 Bail For Misdemeanor

Rate Article

On this special edition of the Black Westchester Power Hour, Damon K. Jones and AJ Woodson discuss young man given a $100,000 bail for missing a court date while incarcerated in Westchester County Department of correction and the incompetent public defender Larry Sykes who advised the young man to go to the court after her was released to let them know why he missed court date which led to him being arrested again and sitting in Valhalla during the Thanksgiving Holiday. We have to have honesty and integrity in our Justice System, from the Police to the Assistant District Attorneys to the Judges and the Public Defendants, It’s time for a complete overhaul of the entire system!

This is just another example of the need for criminal justice reform. We feel the Westchester District Attorney’s needs to do an internal audit of all cases, for the integrity of the office to see how many other cases have been mismanaged like this. We extend an invitation to the DA’s office, the ADA involved, Attorney Larry Sykes and anyone one else involved in the case or with knowledge of this case to appear on the show. If you feel we got anything wrong and haven’t told the whole story you are welcome to come on and tell your side or tell us what you feel we may have gotten wrong.
