Black Westchester Magazine’s Publisher, Damon K. Jones will be one of the honorees of the Just R.E.A.D Awards.

The NYCHA branch of the NAACP On behalf of the Just R.E.A.D (Recognize Education Achieves Destiny) Literacy Development Endeavor was designed to expand the communities understanding of what literacy means for our people.

“On behalf of Black Westchester, we are humbled and blessed to be recognized by the NYCHA, NAACP. Literacy in our community is the ground floor in community development and stabilizing our lives, our families and our nation“, said Jones.

NYCHA NAACP 2016 Just R.E.A.D. Ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, located at 515 Malcolm X Boulevard ( 135th Street and
Lenox Avenue), New York, NY. The event begins at 5:30 pm with a VIP Reception and Cocktail Hour.
