Yonkers, NY — The Mount Vernon Democratic Committee has announced their enthusiastic support of Ken Jenkins for County Executive, Monday, May 1st.
The Mount Vernon Democrats add their name to the growing list of those backing for Ken Jenkins. Thus far, the Yonkers Democratic City Committee, Black Democrats of Westchester, the White Plains Ministers Fellowship Council, as well as a growing list of prominent elected officials throughout Westchester County, have announced support for the Jenkins campaign.
“It is an honor to have the support of the Mount Vernon Democrats,” Jenkins tells Black Westchester. “I first moved to Mount Vernon with my family at 6 years old. The area holds a special place in my history. I am glad to receive the support of Democrats in Mount Vernon, as well as the support we have received from Democratic institutions throughout the county!”
County Legislator Ken Jenkins attempts to make history by becoming the first African-American County Executive. Jenkins will be running against State Senator George Latimer for the right to challenge Rob Astorino who announced in January he will be running to retain his seat and serve a third term as Westchester County Executive.
