Mount Vernon – Tuesday, February 19th the Mount Vernon City Democratic Committee nominated the candidates that will represent the party in the upcoming Tuesday, June 25th Primary Election. The Democratic Party voted Tuesday to officially endorse former Mount Vernon Police Commissioner Clyde Isley for Mount Vernon mayor.
Mount Vernon 2019 Democratic nominees are Clyde Isley for mayor, Lisa Copeland and Yuhanna Edwards for City Council and Lyndon Williams for County Legislator.
Isley will face Mayor Richard W. Thomas, Council President Andre Wallace, Councilwoman Delia Farquharson, former mayor Ernest D. Davis and jail attendant Carlo Jean-Baptiste, Sr., and former Mount Vernon Planning Commissioner Shawyn Patterson-Howard who announce n the eve of the convention in the upcoming Democratic Primary, Tuesday, June 25th.
Candidates will start getting signatures to make the ballot, Tuesday, February 26th. We will be reaching out to the nominees and other candidates running for interviews on People Before Politics Radio.
