Bedford Democratic Committee Chair Becomes First Vice Chair of Westchester Dems
Bedford Democratic Committee Chair MaryAnn Carr joins AJ Woodson, Damon K. Jones, Lorraine Lopez and Robert ‘Dr. Bob’ Baskerville on the People Before Politics Radio Show, Sunday, September 13th before the Thursday, September 17th Westchester Democratic County Committee (WCDC) Convention. MaryAnn ran and won the position of First Vice Chair.

MaryAnn Carr has a long tenure of working on the Bedford Democratic Committee, and in 2016 she was elected to an unexpired seat on the Town Board. She has also been active in Bedford community organizations for many years, as an active parent volunteer in BCSD, as a member of the Bedford Antioch Church engaged in outreach programs for the Community Center in Katonah, and volunteering in a leadership role in the Gala Annual Event for the Martin Luther King Scholarship for Youth. MaryAnn is a resident of Bedford Village, and is an information technology consultant.
In a four-hour reorganization meeting drawn out by technical problems in the electronic voting system, Suzanne Berger, Chair of the Greenburgh Democratic Committee, defeated Mount Kisco Democratic Committee Chair Bill Serratore to become Democratic Chair for Westchester County and the first woman to do so. Both candidates also appeared on Episode 276 – Who Will Be The New Chair of The Westchester Dems.
Suzanne Berger succeeds longtime chairman Reggie Lafayette, who announced at the end of August that he would relinquish the post. Lafayette remains the Democratic Commissioner for the County Board of Elections and the Mount Vernon City Democratic Committee Chair..
