“If you are not liked by Reggie Lafayette, you are not going to be elected. There will never be an election in Mt. Vernon, that will not be fixed as long as Reggie Lafayette is in office,” Maria Caraballo tells Black Westchester
Recent Westchester County Democratic Board of Election Chairman, Reginald Lafayette broke his silence exclusively in BW, addressing all his critics, including the Sam Rivers and the recent articles in Lohud, a recent email blast that compared him to the mafia and the claim he was behind the investigation of BW Publisher Damon K. Jones.
After the interview ran, as a follow-up, we reached out to Maria Caraballo, who Lafayette said was the one who went to the district attorney to start the investigation into Jones. Caraballo claimed in the interview that Lafayette made both of her runs for office (once for School Board and then for City Council) difficult.
“I ran for two different offices and had a problem with him both times,” Caraballo shares with BW.
While Caraballo admits she did in fact go to the district attorney, but said it was to file a complaint about Reggie Lafayette, about he not allowing me to have Jones petitions knocked off, using ones petitions as a way to get to Lafayette. She says Lafayette was never investigated.

Reggie Lafayette has taking a “brutal pounding” on various allegations. Yet, this “clown” remains in his various titles. How come? What will it take to remove this individual from using his power to destroy the political aspirations of individuals seeking public office. Based on what I have read, someone needs to gather the information and send to US Attorney for investigation. From all of the articles that have appeared in “BW” it appears that at the very least Mr. Lafayette is on the edge of criminal behavior. What does Mr. Lafayette know that keeps him out of handcuffs? Find out that missing link so that “We” can be done with him. Enough
