Could Chuck Lesnick Be Replacing Lawrence Porcari as Mount Vernon’s Top Lawyer?

Mr. Lesnick Denies The Rumor

Mount Vernon – A Yonkers Tribune Hezitorial exclusive broke the news Sunday, June 9th, that; Chuck Lesnick, Esq., one-time Of Counsel to the firm of Spolzino, Smith, Buss, and Jacobs LLP, presently with New York State Homes & Community Renewal will replace Mount Vernon Corporation Counsel Lawrence A. Porcari, Jr., Esq. who will be dismissed from his responsibilities within days, according to the Yonkers-based local media outlet.

According to the Yonkers Tribune; Mr. Porcari has yet to learn that he will become the sacrificial lamb in the debauched and dysfunctional climate that has consumed the Office of Mayor Richard Thomas’ administration.

Black Westchester search the recent communications and social media post from Mayor Richard Thomas and his office and could not confirm or deny the so we reached out to Mr. Lesnick who denied the rumor.

“On June 9, a blogger posted that I had been offered a position as Corporation Counsel for the City of Mt. Vernon,” Lesnick tells Black Westchester. “There is no truth to that posting. I have had no conversations with the Mt. Vernon Mayor nor anyone in his administration about the Department of Law or any position in it.”

We reached out to Mayor Thomas’ office for comment on the story and to confirm the reported dismissal of Porcari and it was radio silence.

On Wednesday, May 29, 2019, New York Attorney General Letitia James and New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli announced the arrest and indictment of the City of Mount Vernon Corporation Counsel Lawrence Porcari for abusing his position as a public official by engaging in a scheme that defrauded the Mount Vernon Board of Water Supply of $365,000 to pay the personal legal expenses of the Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Thomas and a public relations firm.

As with the other eight million stories in the naked city, I am sure this won’t be the last we hear of this. Stay tuned to Black Westchester as more information becomes available.

We followed up with Mr. Lesnick hours later and he stands by his story.

“I absolutely has no intention of working for the MV legal department,” Mr. Lesnick told BW’s Lorraine Lopez T 6:52PM. “In fact when I first heard about it, I was on a boat and Gary Pretlow asked me if it was true. I almost fell off the boat. I has been working with my father in law and that is what I will continue to do after I retires. Yes, I am retiring but will continue to work to better the community. But, I have no intention of doing it as the Corporation Council of MV.”
