Community gathers with friends and family for homegoing of 16-year-old Mount Vernon cheerleader, who's murder rocked the city

Mount Vernon gathered at Macedonia Baptist Church, Saturday morning for the homegoing of Kayla Green. The 16-year-old cheerleading captain was fatally stabbed Friday, April 8th after a celebration for Mount Vernon High School Men’s Varsity team celebrating it 12th State Championship.

Friends and family gathered at Macedonia Baptist Church – located at 141 S Ninth Avenue in Mount Vernon – for Kayla Green’s viewing service; her burial was held afterwards at Kensico Cemetery. Her eulogy was done by Rev. Al Sharpton.
