Judith Watson Receives Crain’s New York Business 2023 Notable Health Care Leader Award

Judith Watson, CEO of Westchester Community Health Center (formerly Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center), located at 107 W 4th Street in Mount Vernon was recently named one of the Notable 2023 leaders in health care by Crain Magazine.

“I am honored to accept Crain’s New York Business 2023 Notable Health Care Leader Award on behalf of the staff of Westchester Community Health Center (formerly Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center) who work tirelessly as Westchester’s Health Care Safety Net Provider. Over the past three years, our WCHC team came together and navigated through the pandemic with dedication, innovation, and sacrifice. I am exceptionally proud of their continued efforts to meet our community’s ongoing healthcare needs,” Judith Watson shared with Black Westchester.

Judith Watson of the Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center oversees the operation of eight sites, ensuring that high-quality health care is accessible to all in need regardless of ability to pay. During the pandemic, the center operated the only walk-through testing center in the area, which was later expanded into a vaccination site. The chief executive officer’s other accomplishments include setting up the first mpox vaccination program in Westchester County and holding a state-funded listening program on the long-term physical and emotional effects of Covid-19. Watson is on the board of directors of Westchester Medical Center.

Black Westchester salutes Judith Watson, who is one of the Black Women in Westchester of distinction celebrated in our new book.
