A shooting after a large Jamaican Day Rave Party at Hutchison Field, Sunday night, left one person dead and at least one person shot, a little after 11:00 PM. Details are still sketchy and it is unknown if there were any other injuries at this time. The event was billed as Legacy presents Igloo BeachWear honolulu Style.
While no one wanted to speak on the record, one party goer said there were close to a thousand people in attendance, and there was no presence of police, “Not one cop, at or outside the event, not one.” A city official said Mayor Richard Thomas signed off on the permit for the party, Friday.
Hutchison Field located at 657 Garden Avenue in Mt Vernon, is the same field the UniverSoul Circus performed just two months earlier.
