National Congress of Black American Indians will host its first national gathering on July 19th in Washington D.C.

Black Americans and Native Americans have a long shared and complicated history that dates back to America’s colonial era.

And today, many tribes consist extensively of people of African descent, particularly Eastern Woodlands groups such as the Narragansett, Pequot, Lumbee, etc.

July 19th will mark the first of many gatherings for people of African-Native American ancestry in the nation’s capital.

Presented by Jay Winter Nightwolf, host of “The American Indian’s Truths” on WPFW 89.3 FM, the First Gathering of the National Congress of Black American Indians will be a cultural celebration that includes guest speakers and a chance for learning.

The NCBAI will bring everyone together for a historic event and I hope to see you there! See more information below.
