Hundreds gathered Monday to pray and offer support for to one of Westchester County’s most beloved rappers, DMX as he remains hospitalized following a heart attack he suffered on Friday. At least 500 people gathered outside White Plains Hospital (41 E Post Rd) where the rapper and actor is currently being treated. His longtime attorney, Murray Richman, confirmed to Black Westchester Sunday that DMX had suffered a heart attack around 11 p.m. on Friday at his home in White Plains and was taken via ambulance to a local hospital. Richman said then that the artist was on a ventilator. The attorney said he did not know what may have caused the rapper to have had a heart attack.
Ruff Ryder Motorcycle Club leaving White Plains Hospital
After the vigil in front of the hospital, the crown moved to Gardella Park on Ferris Avenue. The Voice of Westchester, DJ Tri-State Jericko entertained the crowd inside the park, while the Ruff Ryders Motorcycle Club performed stunts much like they did in the music video for the late ’90s, anthem X dedicated to them. When the Ruff Ryders Anthem played the crowd went wild. BW’s Cynthia Turnquest-Jones was on hand to capture some of the moment outside the hospital and on Ferris Avenue on camera.
