BLEA’s Damon K Jones Speaks On Race & US Criminal Justice System & Human Rights At United Nations ICERD

U.S. implementation of The International Convention to Eliminate Racial Discrimination (ICERD), a treaty ratified in 1994, is being review in August 2014. Our UNA Southern NY State Division convened a consultation of some 30 experts and general participants to focus on the U.S. criminal justice system and human rights. Speakers were: Joshua Cooper, UNA-USA Leo Nevas Human Rights Task Force member; Sean Pica, Executive Director, Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison; Damon K. Jones, NY State Representative of Blacks in Law Enforcement of America; and William C.
