MV Dems Withdraw Endorsement From Cathlin Gleason, Replaced By Lauren Carter
The Mount Vernon Democratic City Committee announced to Mount Vernon District Leaders, Wednesday, February 24th that they will be withdrawing their endorsement of Cathlin Gleason-Boncardo for City Council. The letter further explains that Lauren S. Carter will be the newly appointed City Council member candidate replacing Gleason.
The letter signed by MVDCC Chairman Reginald Lafayette explains that Cathlin who is also on the Mount Vernon Forward 2021 slate was warned that she can not run on two slates. Gleason was endorsed by the party, Thursday, February 4th at the nominating convention. It says she was informed that she could not run on a different slate with candidates running against the Mt. Vernon Democratic City Committee’s endorsed slate.

Lauren who just received the endorsement of former City Councilman James R. Jubilee will be on the party slate with Councilwoman Janice Duarte – who is running for re-election, former Councilman and Acting Mayor André Wallace. Other City Council candidates include MV Forward 2021 ticket – also on the MV Forward ticket of Cathlin Gleason-Boncardo, Danielle Browne and Ed Poteat, Nicole Lucio and Gregory Cannata, who are running in tandem, then you have Councilwoman Delia Farquharson is also running for re-election and candidate Hope Marable as well.
