PEOPLE BEFORE POLITICS RADIO [Black Westchester]Black Westchester — Black Westchester Magazine and the People Before Politics Radio Show will host its first ever Senatorial Debate live on PBP Radio, Sunday, August 28th, 6-8 P.M at the In The Mixx Radio Studio in Yonkers New York. The debate will also be broadcasted via Facebook Live as well. If you miss the live debate, have no fear BW will post the video of the entire debate a few hours after it ends for you to watch at your leisure.

Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson, who served the Senatorial District 36 which includes parts of the Northeast Bronx and Mount Vernon for 16 years, left her office in July to join the Cuomo Administration to serve as a Special Adviser for Policy and Community Affairs of New York State Homes and Community Renewal.

Five candidates from the Northeast Bronx and the City of Mount Vernon are all vying to the next State Senator in the 36th District. The candidates are Jaamal Bailey (The Bronx Dems Nominee), Rev. Edward Mulraine (The Mount Vernon Dems Nominee), Que English, Dr. Alvin Ponder and Pamela Hamilton-Johnson. As we approach the crowded Democratic Primary (Tuesday, September 13th), BW & PBP Radio thought it was a good idea to have its first live on-air debate and give residents and voters a chance to meet the candidates and see what they stand for.

While BW covered all of the debates in the summer of 2015, this will be the first as they will be the host as well.

Residents and voters are welcome to send any questions they have for the candidates in the comment section below or email us at BlackWestchester@gmail.com before the debate (type senate debate as subject and include you name and whether you are from Mt. Vernon or the Bronx in body with you questions). You can also type your questions in comment section on Facebook, below the live video during the debate. WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING PHONES CALLS DURING THE DEBATE AT THE STATION!

Tell a friend to tell a friend and take this opportunity to find out something about all the candidates so you can make an informed decision on September 13th.
