Black Westchester 2019 Endorsements

Several candidates throughout the country have asked does Black Westchester endorse candidates, as a rule, we usually do not with one exception we did endorse George Latimer for County Executive in 2017.

Ever since the signature petition process everyone wanted to know how Black Westchester was supporting or endorsing, we told everyone we are not endorsing any candidates.

Despite that, we got calls from candidates who heard we were supporting their candidates in New Rochelle and Yonkers that reached out to others who knew us, because they thought we would put them on the show because we were supporting their opposition, and even Dan Murphy wrote in the Yonkers Times about a candidate we were supposed to be supporting.

Throughout the months May and June we extended an invitation to candidates running in the primary to be interviewed on People Before Politics Radio and even discussed a few others on the Black Westchester Power Hour Radio Show on WVOX. Despite treating all candidates the same and give them their 15-30 minutes, everyone continued to make assumptions on who were supposedly endorsing.

Now that all the candidate interviews are done, and since Dan Murphy gave us such a great shout out we are breaking our silence and announcing our endorsements for the 2019 Democratic Primary in Westchester County.

Mount Vernon
Council President Andre Wallace for Mayor, Joyce Brown and Danielle Scholar for City Council.

Yonkers

We will be posting why were are endorsing these candidates in the 2019 Democratic Primary individually over the next day or two and announcing them at the end of our Pre-Primary Edition of People Before Politics Radio, Sunday, June 23rd.

Make sure you get up and get out and vote Tuesday, June 25th in the Democratic Primary. If you have a car and are able to, check out your neighbors and the seniors and see if they voted and if not give them a ride if they need it. There are many important races this year especially County Court Judge which is a ten-year term. They say you get the government you vote for, so make sure you exercise your right! #GOTV!

Now everyone can stop speculating, asking and assuming, THESE ARE THE CANDIDATES BLACK WESTCHESTER IS ENDORSING IN THE 2019 DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY ON TUESDAY, JUNE 25TH
