Bob Marrone Named PR Chief for Choice of New York

Long-time Westchester talk radio host and executive, Bob Marrone, has accepted a position with Choice of New York, a non-profit dedicated to advocating for and working with the homeless, mentally ill and others in need of assistance, including the recently incarcerated. His is a contract position where he will be expected to expand awareness of Choice in the business, non-profit and political communities as well as print, broadcast and digital media.

Bob has been a presence in the Westchester community for almost 20 years, beginning as a part-time host at Whitney Media’s WVOX and WVIP stations, later distinguishing himself as an award-winning morning man on Good Morning Westchester on WVOX.  He also worked at Westchester’s other iconic radio station WFAS, where he hosted Mornings with Bob Marrone. More recently, Bob was the general manager and broadcast anchor at Radio Westchester, his own outlet at the New Rochelle train station, an enterprise that was cut short by the Covid pandemic. Bob also serves as an anchor for Westchester Talk Radio, the region’s best known on-line station, where he has worked for several years 

In addition to radio, Bob has hosted his own business show on NRTV and covered other events, such as the annual New Rochelle Thanksgiving parade. He has also served as a columnist for The Yonkers Tribune, the Westchester Guardian and the New Rochelle Patch.

Unrelated to broadcasting, Bob has served as the executive director of the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce and served on the boards of the Chamber, The Demitasse Players, a media production company whose sole purpose is to bring awareness to mental health issues, the New Rochelle Opera and Choice of New York, where he is now on a leave of absence.  Bob is also a member of the Iona College Mass Communications Advisory Council.  

Prior to his career in Westchester, Bob spent many years on Wall Street serving as a communications director for various entities, and as the head of training for two major firms.
