Poughkeepsie’s Own, Bill Duke On Understanding The Colorism Rhetoric [Karen Hunter Show]

Light Skin vs. Dark Skin debate has layers to it. Actor Bill Duke breaks it down.

In 2011, “Dark Girls,” a documentary by Bill Duke, stirred public conversation in the African-American community about the negative experiences of dark-skinned women. Film director and actor Bill Duke was born William Henry Hudson Duke, Jr continued that discussion in a sequel documentary “Light Girls,” which aired January 2015 on the OWN Network. The Poughkeepsie born actor/ director discussed Understanding The Colorism Rhetoric recently on the Karen Hunter Show.
