The Many Benefits Of Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil contains a Unique combination of fatty acids with powerful medicinal properties. Although it contains saturated fat, It’s one of the few foods that can be classified as a “superfood.”  It’s unique combination of fatty acids have profound positive effects on overall health. People who consume a lot of Coconut are some of the healthiest people on the planet. Coconut Oil also increases your energy expenditure, helping you burn more fat. The lauric acid in coconut oil can kill bacteria, viruses and fungi, helping to stave off infections. Even if you’ve already made the switch in the kitchen here’s a list of the many benefits of Coconut Oil for the body. Let’s start with the crown and work our way down.

 

1: Deep Conditioner/Fights Frizziness
Coconut oil is a cream-like solid at room temperature, and turns to smooth liquid when heated to 76°F. While in the shower you can melt your coconut oil by running the jar itself under warm water. Once you shampoo then rinse, apply a nice amount of the oil to wet hair and leave on in a plastic cap. Letting it sit as you would a deep conditioner will add moisture and shine back into limp tresses.

2: Great as a Makeup Remover
Half a teaspoon melts off makeup with ease, even if it’s smudge proof. Massage warm, liquified coconut oil straight onto skin, be sure to rinse with warm water after. To make your own coconut oil makeup remover wipes, melt 1 teaspoon of coconut oil per round cotton pad (can be purchased at Wal-Mart or Target) in a microwave-safe container. Lay the cotton pads in an even layer and allow them soak up the oil overnight. Store in the same container or in a plastic baggie and throw them in your carry-on bag or gym bag for easy makeup removal when on the go.

3: Lip Balm
Chapped Lips? Never! Not when you have Coconut Oil! Its ultra-hydrating and can keep lips moisturized during any season of the year. Scoop some into a spare small container and toss it in your purse and dab it on with your finger throughout the day.

4: Body Scrub
Mix a 1/2 cup of sea salt or sugar with equal amount of melted coconut oil, and then use your hands to rub it over any rough patch or area of skin that doesn’t retain moisture as well. The scrub moisturizes while removing any dead skin cells. Your results, baby soft skin that looks amazing! Pay extra attention to feet and elbows. You can also add lavender oil for a wonderful scent.

5: Shaving Cream
Coconut Oil is heavenly as a shaving cream! Who knew ?! Warm your jar of it under the water and smooth onto legs before you shave. Your razor glides effortlessly, giving you an extreemly-close shave, and your legs will be fantastically moisturized in the process. Tip: shave outside the shower.

6: Body Oil
Coconut Oils creamy texture makes it the perfect light moisturizer to rehydrate skin. Apply right out of the shower on warm skin and your garunteed to feel amazing after. You can also add lavender or a few drops of peppermint for a wonderful massage oil with an amazing tropical scent.

7: Soften Cuticles
Dry raggedy cuticles? Not with coconut oil around! Swipe a small amount of the oil onto each cuticle and allow it to seep into the skin. It strengthens and hydrates the cuticle skin, making your hands look moisturized and youthful.
It seems that there’s nothing you can’t apply this do it all ingredient coconut oil to that it won’t enhance in some way! Incorporate it to your beauty regiment and enjoy the benefits of one of natures gems!
