White Plains, NY – Westchester County Independence Party Chairman Dr. Giulio Cavallo announced his support of Bendish as a candidate on Wednesday, advancing his campaign for Westchester District Attorney. The endorsement means that Bendish will now have an opportunity to appear on the November ballot with multiple party lines.
Bruce Bendish, who has broad experience as both a prosecutor and defense attorney, has already received overwhelming support from the Republican Party. Wednesday’s announcement provides separation for Bendish’s campaign, as he is now endorsed by multiple parties.
Former Westchester County prosecutor Bruce Bendish, 69, of White Plains, announced his candidacy for Westchester County District Attorney, Thursday morning, February 18th in the Larchmont Room at the Crowne Plaza Hotel located at 66 Hale Avenue. Bendish previously served in the Westchester District Attorney’s office as a Bureau Chief in both the Homicide and Rackets Bureaus under former District Attorney Carl Vergari.
He has appeared in nearly every court throughout the county and has earned the respect of the judges, local and county police agencies, the current District Attorney’s staff, as well as the defense bar – a benefit that is unique to him as a candidate in this race.
Bendish’s agenda includes establishing a veteran’s court, removing illegal guns from the streets, and cracking down on the growing opiate and heroin epidemic that is plaguing New York State.
