Asha Castleberry Calls Sen. Elizabeth Warren Hypocrite For Endorsing Male Candidate Mondaire Jones

Says Sen Warren pandered to women voters but endorsed male candidate

The race for the NY-17 Congressional District continues to heat up as candidate Asha Castleberry-Hernandez calls out president candidate Senator Elizabeth Warren after Warren endorsed Castleberry’s opponent Mondaire Jones. In a tweet early Thursday morning, national security expert, educator and war veteran, Castleberry-Hernandez tweeted; Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren ‘a hypocrite, for pandering to women voters, especially Black Women and then endorsing a male candidate of several female candidates’ in the highly-contested race to succeed retiring Congresswoman Nita Lowey. At least nine candidates are vying to succeed Lowey.

Asha Castleberry-Hernadez who appeared on the People Before Politics Radio, Sunday, December 15, 2019, to discuss her candidacy basically told Black Westchester she stands by her tweet when we reached out to her for a quote.

Senator Warren endorsed NY-17 Democratic Congressional Candidate Mondaire Jones, praising the progressive activist and attorney as a champion for working families who will fight for big, structural change, Monday, January 28th. The lawyer, activist, nonprofit leader, and opening gay Jones also recently picked up two other key endorsements, Wednesday, February 12th, from the first Black woman to represent Massachusetts in Congress, US Representative Ayanna Pressley, who also endorsed Warren for President and the Hispanic Democrats of Westchester.

When we reached out to Castleberry-Hernandez for thoughts on the endorsement from member of the highly-publicized Squad, Ayanna Pressley, she simply replied; “She just followed Elizabeth.”
