Yes, It’s Another Winter Weather Advisory: Snow Will Cause For A Messy Commute Thursday Morning

Prepare for a slippery, morning commute on Thursday, Lower Hudson Valley could see significant snow accumulation beginning at 5 a.m., according to the NWS,

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — What’s starting out as rain tonight, could be a snowy mess in the morning! The National Weather Service warns that much of Southern Westchester will be under a winter weather advisory starting at 5 a.m. on Thursday.

Winter weather advisories have been issued for southern Westchester County, New York City, Long Island, and portions of northeast New Jersey from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. A cold front will move through tonight, allowing colder air to change any rain to snow in the affected areas.

Two to three inches of snow is possible before and during the Thursday morning commute. Most storm totals will likely be between 1 to 3 inches, but some lower Hudson Valley could have isolated spots 2 to 3 inches.

Snow showers will end before 12 p.m. There will be sun and clouds, but it will be cold for the rest of the day as temperatures fall into the 20s. Icy spots are likely.

A bitter blast is expected on Friday.  There will be a mix of sun and clouds, with highs around 22 degrees.
