André Wallace Unites Mt. Vernon at Appreciation Holiday Party

Mount Vernon — Newly elected Councilman André Wallace brings together many elected officials, community leaders, business owners and some of who were on opposing sides during the election season at his holiday party, that doubled as a thank you celebration for all who supported him in his victory on Tuesday night. Held at his building, The Embassy of First (28 East First Street), the joyous events saw many posing for pictures together including BW Publisher Damon K. Jones and Mount Vernon Democratic Chairman Reginald Lafayette, BW Editor-In-Chief AJ Woodson and Library Trustee Oscar Davis, Mayor Ernest D. Davis, Damon, Anthony Mitchell and Samuel L. Rivers all taken by Cathlin Gleason. It was a very diverse crowd that showed that it is possible for Mount Vernon to come together as one for the common good of moving forward and doing what’s best for Mount Vernon.

Others in attendance included County Legislator Lyndon Williams, City Clerk George Brown, Councilman Marcus Griffith, Councilwoman Roberta Apuzzo, Recreation Commissioner Darren M. Morton, Deputy Recreation Commissioner Diane Atkins, members of the newly formed MV20/20 Community Action Group including sister of newly elected Mayor Richard Thomas, Melissa Thomas, Mount Vernon Businessman of The Year Kenneth Plummer, Chamber of Commerce President Dwayne Brown, Frank Trolio of Trusco Building Supplies, Brenda Crump, Nesta Felix of NewFlex Youth Programs, Crystal Collins of Mount Vernon Youth Community Outreach, Inc., Frank Streng, Pastor Jeffrey Wheeler, Pastor Troy DeCohen and several other Wallace supporters.
