Mount Vernon, NY – Westchester County Legislator Lyndon Williams (D-Mount Vernon) will be hosting and moderating a Town Hall Meeting on the Affordable Health Care Act on WEDNESDAY—November 12 at the Mount Vernon Campus of Montefiore Medical Center. The event will take place from 6 to 8 PM.
Representatives from the NY State Department of Health (NYSDOH), Westchester County Health Department, Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center and Montefiore Medical Center will be presenters at the Town Hall meeting, which is being co-sponsored by Montefiore (as part of its Health Education Series), Westchester County Board of Legislators (BOL) and NYSDOH.
The next open enrollment for health care is November 15, 2014 to February 15, 2015. Navigators and Certified Application Counselors will be at the Town Hall Meeting to assist with pre-enrollment.
“Many Westchester residents have important questions and concerns regarding the Affordable Care Act and the health insurance needs, so this event is meant to provide answers and reassurances,” said Williams, who represents Mount Vernon in the County’s 13th Legislative District. “Getting information about affordable healthcare to our residents will lead to their better health and well-being.”
