MVPL & MVAC Present A Photographic Art Exhibit, MV Women of Distinction

The Mount Vernon Public Library and Mount Vernon Arts & Culture Society are pleased to present a photograph art exhibit which recognizes 18 amazing Mount Vernon women. These women work tirelessly to uplift our community in countless ways. 

The theme of the exhibit is “Women of Distinction: Her Time is Now!” The “Distinction” exhibit will be held in the Mount Vernon Public Library Rotunda, 28 South First Avenue. The exhibit will open on Friday, May 6, and will run through Friday, July 8, 2022. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, May 22, 1 pm- 3 pm.

“Be it a mother, wife, sister, civic leader or advocate, we are surrounded by great women; it is a privilege that should not be taken for granted,” MVPL Director Timur Davis shared with Black Westchester.

The public is invited to the “Distinction Photograph Exhibit” and to join us for the reception as we honor these esteemed women. The exhibit will feature the following women: Mayor Shawyn Patterson Howard, Ruth Hassel Thompson, Leslie Alpert, Elvira Castillo, Brenda Smith, Earnestine Dixon, Serapher Conn, Roberta Apuzzo, Frances Wynn, Priscilla Edmund, Joyce Cole Fair, Deborah Norman, Mae Carpenter, Judge Nichelle Johnson, Mailyn Irizarry, Maura Reilly, Catherine Webb and Jennifer Lackard
